The first Annual African Catholic Day of Prayer was held at St Camillus Church On October 22 2004 at St Camillus Church, Silver Spring.  Mass was celebrated by Bishop Martin Holley. The event was hosted by Marie Reine du Monde, a Pan African and Haitian french speaking community of St Camillus Church. Mass was followed by sharing of food from various parts of Africa, an art exhibition from the african communities and a Ge'ez rite performance. Msgr East and Sister Mary Paul urge the African Catholics to come together and stay united in Christ. The Most Reverend Cardinal Theodore McCarrick graced us with his presence during the Afternoon activities.
